Ted Kennedy Has Brain Cancer

Okay, he isn't one of my favorite people. Okay, I don't like him. But it's still sad that he has to deal with this illness. I try not to wish ill on anyone ( except the stbx) just 'cause I believe in karma and what goes around comes around. Of course, my first thought was: Hey maybe they can get a Republican to take his place. Then I remembered it was Massachusetts and Mitt Romney was their only Republican. So we're still screwed when it come to the Senate.

Anyway, I...uh..hope he gets better. Seriously.

You know what's funny (not really) about the Kennedy thing, if this was Cheney or Bush or some conservative senator, the left wing nutjobs would be having parties and practicing witchcraft to bring about a painful death. Some of them are really sick people with zero morals, it seems. I probably disagree with 95% (or more) of what Kennedy stands for... but to wish him well is the right thing.

but to wish him well is the right thing.

Does that mean no more Chappaquiddick jokes since he's probably going to die?

I'm not sure I get the reasoning behind that.

I never have. It's one thing to be senselessly cruel, still another to wish someone well that up until now one didn't like or respect.

Just because I don't like someone's politics doesn't mean I wish death on them.

Who wished death on him?

I thought I was pretty clear when I said:

It's one thing to be senselessly cruel,

You jumped the gun with the 2nd sentence there because to the first sentence I would have said -- joke away to your heart's delight about the man, his politics, and his past.

I do think it would be in some of the worst taste to joke about his cancer... but his cancer does NOT suddenly mean he's untouchable. He's still a damn twit.

Oh, well, never mind!
